PRIVACY POLICY

General Principles and Values of QNA:

People use QNA to give their answers on questions that are important to them to see the analysis and to raise awareness with new questions to frame arguments to gauge public opinion. This means that you may encounter sharply worded questions and analysis of results that may be different from your view, which we believe can lead to important insights being generated about nuanced topics.

Your answers to all questions and all user information from the member profile (other than your name, picture and points) are private and not revealed to any other user or any third party. The questions posted by users are automatically broadcast to other members of the community.

Users can see the names and faces of members of the community in order to follow particular individuals or groups’ question feeds or to compare their ‘similarity level’ with individuals, friends or defined user groups. Data analysis that is shared on the platform or with third parties is always in aggregates, at the issue or topic level, preserving anonymity at the question level for all users.

While deliberately not a debating or social media platform we encourage the development of a community of engaged citizens who can share thought provoking questions on important issues, particularly sensitive national debates. Users are encouraged to initiate crowd-sourced surveys in their areas of interest based on trending news and events.

We believe that when people use their authentic identity, they are more responsible when they share this kind of content and the overall community is more accountable, particularly as the quality of the data set depends on avoiding fake users. By joining QNA, you agree to use your authentic name and identity. You may not publish the personal information of others without their consent.

If we discover that you have multiple personal profiles, we may ask you to close the additional profiles. We also remove any profiles that impersonate other people.

QNA is a place for you to share the questions and news that are important to you. However, before doing so, please make sure that you have respected copyrights, trademarks and other legal rights.

We welcome open discussion and social commentary on important subjects, but ask that people show sensitivity and do not share abusive or threatening content in the form of questions or news.

We don’t allow any user to express support for violent or criminal behaviour.

We don’t tolerate bullying or harassment and remove content that appears to purposefully target private individuals, defined as people who have neither gained news attention nor the interest of the public, by way of their actions or public profession.

We permit open and critical opinions of public figures, people who are featured in the news or have a large public audience based on their profession or chosen activities. We remove credible threats to public figures, as well as hate speech directed at them – just as we do for private individuals.

To help balance the needs, safety and interests of a diverse community, we may remove certain kinds of sensitive, abusive or inflammatory content, disable accounts that share it and work with law enforcement when we believe that there is a risk of physical harm or threats to public safety.

QNA removes hate speech, which includes content that directly attacks people based on their race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sexual orientation, sex, gender, gender identity, or medical condition. Organisations and people dedicated to promoting hatred against any particular groups are not allowed a presence on QNA.

In light of the above, please find below our detailed privacy policy!
